Spanish Predominates over Catalan in 42% of Workplaces

A new study conducted by the UGT union in collaboration with the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) highlights a significant shift in corporate language usage. The report indicates that Spanish is considered the most relevant language in 41.6% of workplaces, compared to 34.9% for Catalan. Union leaders have expressed concern that the lack of institutional support and professional training programs is contributing to this trend, particularly in large industrial and service sectors.
