Only One-Third of Workers Prioritize Catalan as Their First Language at Work

The latest employment data reveals that 46% of workers expressed a desire to improve their Catalan skills if provided with the opportunity during working hours. Currently, only about 33% of workers use Catalan as their primary language, a figure the UGT hopes to increase by advocating for “linguistic clauses” in labor contracts. These clauses would guarantee access to language courses and encourage a more inclusive linguistic environment for all employees.
